THE YELLOW BOAT (2023)
The Yellow Boat is a lyrical, heartrending one-act play based on the true story of Benjamin Saar, a joyful and imaginative boy born with hemophilia. When a tainted blood transfusion leads to an AIDS diagnosis in the 1980s—a time of fear and misinformation— Benjamin’s family must navigate hospital corridors, social stigma, and their own grief. Through vibrant storytelling, Benjamin’s drawings come to life onstage as he sails a metaphorical yellow boat through storms of pain and prejudice, transforming his journey into a testament of resilience, love, and the healing power of art.
